Physical Activity for Good Health

Being physically active can reduce the risk of a wide variety of diseases, increase wellbeing, and benefit physical and mental health. We recommend that adults do at least 2 and a half hours per week of something that increases their heart rate. This doesn't need to be too strenuous, and you should be able to hold a conversation while doing it. Examples include: getting off a stop early on your way to work and walking a little extra; or for short journeys try and walk rather than use the car; carrying shopping home rather than driving. Household and garden jobs are also a great way of getting your minutes in! Have a look at the infographic below, and please follow the links for more ideas and suggestions.
